Marianne Penny

Knit and Crochet Tutor – Penny.Stitch.Craft

Knitting and crochet are my go-to crafts to relax and unwind. They are easily accessible; can be portable too, and there is a mindfulness about the soothing rhythm that takes you away and creates inner calm.

After Art College, I completed a Knitwear Design and Production Degree in the 1990’s. I also started my crochet journey then by making my first granny square blanket using my Grandad’s weaving wool. I have continued to build upon my skills and experience ever since – there is always something new to learn!

My love of natural fibres has grown with my experience and knowledge, and nothing gives me more joy than working with lovely fluff or yarns to create beautiful items.

I have been sharing my love of crafts with others and teaching knitting, crochet and sewing skills for the past 6 years. I am also able to teach left and right-handed crochet.

Come and join me at Stitch Station and learn the skills needed to share in our crochet and knitting community projects, make lovely hand crafts for yourself, your friends and family, and feel benefits that yarn crafts offer to your health and well-being.

Clare Crook

Needle Felting and Macramé Tutor – Heartfelt by Clare

Needle felting was something I was inspired to try in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK. My first creation (a polar bear) came from a kit I found online.

From here I soon started making items for other people and started to get requests and commissions for my so-called ‘pet pawtraits’. And so ‘Heartfelt by Clare’ was born.

I love the satisfaction of starting with raw materials that suddenly come together to make a piece of art.

As a vet I have a natural love of animals and this makes up the majority of my creations and gives me inspiration. I will attempt pretty much anything however, with other creations including Star Wars, Disney characters, fairies and even Beetlejuice!

In 2024 I teamed up with Stitch Station to provide needle felting classes. My classes are really popular and very rewarding. It’s so satisfying to see people walk away with a finished product that they take pride in making.

I love crafting in general and have also started to dabble in macramé too…so watch this space for more classes!

Paula Carroll

Floristry – Molly Blooms

I own and run a florist shop in Penketh with my daughter Morgan, who joined me one Summer in 2013 on her break from College and never left. She too fell in love with the magic of flowers and the way they bring the changing seasons vividly into focus.

I studied floristry to an advanced level and found my calling later in life, but am so happy that we can share our knowledge and passion with you and spark your creativity in new directions.

We have been accepted into the British Florist Association. We are winners of three ‘Best Rated’ Warrington awards, and my work has recently featured in the March 2025 edition of Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding Magazine.

I can teach you how to create fresh and beautiful floral arrangements for your home and welcoming Christmas and Easter door wreaths, each one as individual as you are.
