How it all began
The idea for ‘Stitch Station’ came about following a family discussion after a lock-down walk in 2020. The seed of a business idea was sown and a couple of months later it had germinated into ‘Stitch Station: Coffee ❤ Cake ❤ Craft’.
Following completion of the purchase of our premises on Station Road in Great Sankey in May 2021, the transformation from ‘computer shop’ (formerly Castle Computers) to ‘coffee and craft shop’ began.
‘Reduce, reuse, upcycle and buy local’ has been our working business model from day one. Being rooted in our area and wider North West Region, we are proudly working with local trades, crafts and artisans to create a unique space, full of character and community spirit.
The Partners Behind Our Menu ☕️🍰
At Stitch Station, we believe that the best moments are fueled by the best ingredients. That’s why we’ve carefully hand-picked a “Station Family” of local suppliers and artisans who share our passion for quality and craft.
When you visit us on Station Road, you’re not just supporting one local business—you’re supporting a whole network of incredible North West producers.
- Our Coffee: Neighbourhood Coffee, Liverpool We believe every craft project should start with a perfect cup. Our beans are roasted just down the road in Liverpool by the experts at Neighbourhood Coffee. Every cup is barista-served with care, ensuring a smooth, delicious brew every time.
- Our Tea: Brew Tea Co, Manchester For the tea lovers, we’ve chosen Brew Tea Co from Manchester. They believe in “Proper Tea”—no dust, no fuss, just whole leaf tea that provides the perfect accompaniment to a morning “Knit & Natter.”
- Our Bread: Sexton’s Village Bakery, Lymm The foundation of our lunch menu is our famous sourdough. It is delivered fresh from the multi-award-winning Sexton’s Village Bakery in Lymm. Known for their traditional methods and incredible flavour, their bread makes our toasties truly special.
- Our Cakes: Bakes by Becka No visit to Stitch Station is complete without a treat from the talented Becka. From our decadent showstoppers to our popular traybakes, Becka’s creations are baked with love and delivered fresh to our counter.
We are so proud to serve these local gems alongside our yarns and workshops. It’s all part of our commitment to helping you to “Invest in Yourself” through quality, community, and a really good slice of cake!

Accessibility
Thanks to Warrington Disability Partnership, Stitch Station is now even more accessible than ever!
We have a 4ft portable ramp to assist entry/exit at the front of the shop and a hearing loop (please switch to T to use and ask a member of the team to access the ramp).
Our background music is just that. It will never impede your conversations, and our acoustic ceiling tiles are effective for improving the acoustic quality by reducing echo and reverberation.
A little more conversation…
