Stitch Station Featured on ITV Granada Reports

If you caught the news recently, you might have spotted some very familiar faces on your screen! We were absolutely delighted to welcome the team from ITV Granada Reports to Stitch Station to film a special feature on the national Chatty Cafe Scheme.

Our Chatty Cafe Volunteer, Jean, being interviewed by ITV Granada’s Elaine Willcox

As a community-hearted cafe, being chosen to represent this brilliant initiative was a moment of immense pride for us. The feature highlighted the importance of bringing people together to combat loneliness, and we think it captured the spirit of our “Stitch Station Family” perfectly.

More Than Just a Cup of Coffee ☕️💛

For those who may not be familiar with it, the Chatty Cafe Scheme is all about encouraging conversation. At Stitch Station, we have a dedicated Chatty Table every Monday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The rules are simple: if you sit at the table, you’re happy to talk to other customers!

Whether you’re a regular who has lived in Great Sankey for years or a newcomer looking to meet friendly faces, there is a seat waiting for you. As our volunteer Paula says:

“Everyone is welcome to connect with others and join the chat. Stay for as little or as long as you like!”

Why We Are a Chatty Cafe Venue

We believe that a local cafe should be the heart of its community. Our “Two Floors of Coffee, Cake, and Craft” were designed specifically to give people a place to “Invest in Yourself”—and sometimes, the best investment you can make is taking twenty minutes to enjoy a natter with a neighbour.

Our Monday sessions are free to join, and there’s no pressure to be a crafting expert! While many of our “Knit & Natter” regulars join in, the Chatty Table is open to everyone—crafters and non-crafters alike.
